The head and other body parts the police found in Lyari and Mauripur around a week ago belong to the same person, according to the DNA report. The victim was identified as Wasim Ashraf.
The head was found in a garbage dump in Lyari’s Miran Naka area, while the other body parts were found in a drain in the Mauripur police station’s jurisdiction. Police had suspected that all the body parts belonged to the same person.
Ashraf was a North Karachi resident and a father of two, according to the police. They said he was involved in the plastic granules business. They added that his family had reported him missing on July 20, and the body parts were found on July 21. Police believe the man was murdered over a business dispute.
