Three die in Swabi’s rain-related incident
SWABI: Three people, including a minor, were killed as rain lashed the Swabi district on Sunday.An elderly man, identified as Rahim Gul, drowned in the flooded Gohati Canal.The deceased hailed from Missry Banda of Gohati village.The local people informed Rescue 1122 officials soon after the incident. An an operation was launched to recover the dead body which continued till the filing of this report.
In Mal Lara in the Swabi city, a 22-year-old, Tahir Khan, drowned in the Badri Nullah. ARescue 1122 team retrieved the body and handed it over to the family for a burial.A six-year-old child, Yahya Khan, drowned in Adina Badri Nullah. The Rescue 1122 team was called from Mardan district to recover the body while a 15-year-old, Rehan Khan, in Thandkui was rescued by local divers alive.
The floodwater in Naro village damaged the house of Azar Khan. Most of the people were seen draining floodwater from their houses through water pumps. Rain was received intermittently in the district and the weather forecast said it was expected to continue till Tuesday.
