LAHORE: Increasing trend in the prices of the perishable persisted on fourth consecutive week as the supplies of seasonal vegetables are disrupted due to ongoing monsoon. Furthermore, some seasonal vegetable crops are also damaged due to severe weather of June which affected the crop yields.
On the other hand, alongside the increasing prices issue of overcharging also persisted in the absence of any checks and balances from the authorities. However, chicken meat prices slightly came down after the provincial government has imposed a ban in its inter-provincial transportation. But the stakeholders have challenged the government act in the court.
This week price of chicken reduced by Rs26 per kg, fixed at Rs392-406 per kg, sold at Rs450-470 per kg, and chicken meat by Rs37 per kg, fixed at Rs589 per kg, and sold at Rs610-1,000 per kg.
The price of potato soft skin fixed at Rs76-82 per kg, sold at Rs140-150 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs65-70 per kg, and C-grade at Rs55-60 per kilogram, mixed sold at Rs100-120 per kg.
The price of onion A-grade further reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs88-95 per kg, sold at Rs130-140 per kg, B-grade by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs75-80 per kg, and C-grade increased by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs65-70 per kg, mixed sold at Rs100-120 per kg. The price of tomato A-grade reduced by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs125-135 per kg, sold at Rs250 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs112-120 per kg, and C-grade at Rs100-105 per kg, mixed sold at Rs180-200 per kg. The price of garlic local reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs340-355 per kg, sold at Rs450-500 per kg, garlic local (red) increased by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs350-365 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg, Garlic Harnai fixed at Rs380-395 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg, Garlic GI variety gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs135-140 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg and Garlic China price was not fixed sold at Rs1,000 per kg.
Cucumber Farm was further gained by Rs5 per kg, unchanged at Rs72-75 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg, and cucumber local price was not issued, sold at Rs200 per kg.
Mangoes unripe price increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs62-65 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg.
The price of different variety of apples increased by Rs62 per kg, fixed at Rs120-340 per kg, sold at Rs250-600 per kg. The price of Banana A-category further gained by Rs5 per doze, fixed at Rs140-145 per dozen, sold at Rs200-220 per dozen. Grapes Sunderkhani further increased by Rs55 per kg, was fixed at Rs350-365 per kg, sold at Rs450-500 per kg Peach price gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs150-205 per kg, sold at Rs200-350 per kg.
Apricot white increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs160-165 per kg, sold at Rs220-400 per kg, Apricot Ameri was gained by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs205-215 per kg, sold at Rs300-400 per kg. Mangoes of different variety fixed at Rs125-170 per kg, sold at Rs180-450 per kg. Plump A-grade was further gained by Rs80 per kg, fixed at Rs280-290 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg, and B-grade by Rs100 per kg, fixed at Rs200-210 per kg, sold at Rs250 per kg. Cherry box increased by Rs10 per box, fixed at Rs320-335 per box, sold at Rs500-600 per box.
