CM’s ‘Khailta Punjab’ projects to be solarised

LAHORE: Secretary Youth Affairs Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial has said that the solar system will be installed in the newly constructed sports complexes and facilities under Punjab Chief Minister’s ‘Khailta Punjab’ Programme. He said this while presiding over a meeting of Departmental Development Sub-Committee (DDSC) at Punjab Stadium.

The construction and maintenance of 100 sports schemes were also reviewed in the meeting. The relevant officers gave a detailed briefing regarding sports development schemes of South, North and Central Punjab areas.

DG Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal, Senior Chief P&D M Imran, Project Director PMU Qaiser Raza, Deputy Secretary Marhaba Naimat, Finance Department Section Officer M Qasim and other officials also participated in the meeting. Addressing the meeting, Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab said that under ‘Khailta Punjab’ Programme new sports complexes and stadiums will be constructed as per directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. “All the old stadiums in the province which presented deserted look are being restored,” he added. He added that top class sports facilities are being provided in the areas, which have been deprived of these facilities in the past. “Badminton courts will also be built in the newly constructed sports complexes,” he added. DG Youth Affairs Punjab Pervez Iqbal, on this occasion, said that all possible measures are being taken for the development of sports culture across the province. “The construction of new sports complexes in all parts of province will help a lot in tracing fresh sports talent from far-flung areas,” he added.

He further said that the new sports complexes are being built keeping in view modern requirements of sports. “Punjab province has plenty of sports talent and Punjab Sports Department is utilising all resources for the proper grooming of this valuable talent”.
