Coaching trap
In recent years, CSS/PMS coaching academies have proliferated in major urban cities across the country. This trend is growing rapidly and, alongside online mentors, they demand exorbitant fees from fresh candidates. In this age of social media, these academies have created pages and websites, uploading videos to attract more students and generate profit, thereby boosting their own capitalist industry under the guise of coaching. However, after the CSS/PMS results are announced, these academies share pictures of only those students who passed the competitive exams. This practice aims to deceive young minds and perpetuate an exploitative system designed to maximize profit.
I recently watched a video lecture by a CSP officer who passed the CSS exam and teaches European history. She relied on ready-made slides prepared from online sources but lacked an understanding of academic jargon and the nuances of history. Passing the exam does not equate to mastery of the subject. Each subject requires deep theoretical understanding and practical application. It is crucial for fresh aspirants to remain vigilant, understand the exam process, and seek proper guidance from academic teachers and credible mentors rather than falling into the trap of social media influencers.
