ISLAMABAD: Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan stated on Friday that lasting law and order in society can be achieved with a strong, capable, professional, and operationally vibrant police force. He made these comments while addressing as the chief guest during a certificate award ceremony after a one-week “Professional Exchange Programme” for Assistant Superintendents of Police held at the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA).

During his address to the trainees, Mansoor Usman emphasised that ensuring citizens’ security, liberty, and property is the state’s constitutional responsibility, with the police being the primary agency tasked with maintaining law and order.

He stated, “To establish the writ of law, strengthen the rule of law, maintain durable peace in society, and create conditions conducive to socioeconomic growth and development, the police were made the premier law enforcement agency.”

Regarding the importance of training, the Attorney General highlighted the significant challenges of maintaining law and order and combating terrorism, and extremism in the country. He emphasised that well-thought-out training like that conducted by the FJA is essential to effectively addressing these challenges.

The Director-General of the Academy, Hayat Ali Shah, also spoke at the event, emphasising that the police force is essential for the nation’s security and can make society the safest place to live.

He commended the Federal Judicial Academy for its role in building the capacity of the trainees and providing them with a judicial perspective during the week-long training programme and hoped that newly recruited PSPs would meet the expectations of the nation.

At the end, the chief guest awarded certificates to 18 trainee PSPs.
