Three held for torturing woman
Wah Cantt: The Saddar police here on Friday arrested three suspects who allegedly tortured a woman in Nawababad area over a family dispute.
The ex-husband and his brother were among the suspects, the police spokesman said. A CCTV footage went viral on social media in which three men were abusing and beating a woman outside her house in the street in Nawababad area, he added.
City Police Officer (CPO), Syed Khalid Hamdani took notice of the incident and directed the immediate arrest of the accused. The police registered a case and arrested all accused including ex-husband, Mumtaz Gillani, his brother, Khalid Shah and other accompanied identified as Nadeem.
The spokesman said that as per the ‘Never Again’ vision of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, Rawalpindi Police acting upon zero tolerance against crimes with children and women such as harassment and torture.
