3,000 cops deployed to ensure security in Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi district police on the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi, Syed Khalid Hamdani here on Friday deployed over 3,000 cops at Murree Road, Metro Stations and other important city points to ensure security.
According to a police spokesman, Section 144 was enforced in Rawalpindi, restricting gatherings, processions, and protests. “Violation of Section 144 is not permitted under any circumstances,” he said and informed that special security arrangements were also made at entry and exit points. The spokesman said that senior police officers were in the field to check duty points. All available resources were being utilized to ensure law and order and foolproof security, he added. Law enforcement personnel were deployed in Rawalpindi in order to ensure compliance, and the citizens are advised to refrain from engaging in any unlawful acts, he said.
