I am writing this to express my deep concern over the negligence being shown by Wapda officials these days. I am a resident of Alwari Street in Raiwind, Lahore. One of the electric poles on this street looks ready to fall due to the weight of the excess electrical wires it is holding up. It has been in this state for a fortnight now. The street mentioned above is directly connected with Main Bazaar, Raiwind and hundreds of people live in this street and use this route every day. As the bending pole is laden with countless twisted electric wires, it is as lethal as a gun. I request the authorities concerned to take severe action against those officials who are constantly showing negligence towards such a grave issue before any fatal accident takes place.
Moreover, Raiwind, despite being the residence of former PM Nawaz Sharif, falls short in essential amenities. The city lacks hospitals, universities, libraries and parks, presenting a stark contrast to the usual urban standards. Raiwind's streets are perpetually dirty, often brimming with stagnant water and its unpaved roads lack proper lighting. Families in our city find no park whatsoever for spending quality time during holidays, painting a very disheartening picture.
