Green Olympics

July 27, 2024
The 2024 Olympics games have kicked off in France. Around 15000 athletes from 205 nations are expected to compete. The games will be held in Paris for the third time and the opening ceremony will not take place within the stadium but in the open area along the Seine River. However, the guiding principle for the games appears to be building fewer venues, powering every venue with renewable energy, and trying to minimize waste.
Therefore, it can be said that these Olympic Games will be the greenest in history. After the historic Paris agreement on climate change, France seems like it wants to send a message to the world that progress can be made while addressing environmental concerns.
