ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department office has predicted very hot and dry weather ahead during the week all over the country and no imminent signs of rain expected.
According to details the low elevation agricultural plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Sindh would be the centre of heat, a private news channel reported.
In Lahore the temperature has been recorded as 40C while Multan was witnessing scorching hot weather with 47C.Due to continuity of sea breeze the coastal areas of Pakistan will not experience any sharp rise in temperature.
Day temperatures in Karachi will generally remain below 40C as wind will continue blowing from sea with variable speed with comfortable level of humidity.Temperature in Larkana would rise to 51C whereas Dadu will observe 50C and Hyderabad was recorded at 50 and 49 degrees Celsius respectively.
Similar weather conditions were recorded in other cities of Sindh including Jacobabad and Mohenjo-Daro.On the other hand power outage duration has increased as electricity shortfall reached 3000MW.
According to new schedule issued by authorities urban areas would face six hours of power cut while eight hours of loadshedding would be carried out in rural areas.Health experts suggest citizens to stay indoors take appropriate measures to battle heat wave, heat stroke and dehydration as advised by health authorities.
Citizens of Lahore also had to experience sizzling hot temperature throughout the day resulting in the streets becoming completely deserted. At 46 degrees Celsius was the hottest day of the season for the provincial capital.Weather in other cities of Punjab was also scorching hot as 45C in Faisalabad and Bahawalpur 44C.
