Pakistan, Sri Lanka to battle for Asia Cup final spot

KARACHI: The stage is set for a thrilling encounter between Pakistan Women and Sri Lanka counterparts in the second semi-final of the Women’s Asia Cup T20 on Friday (today) at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.

India will take on Bangladesh in the first semi-final at the same venue earlier in the day. Both Pakistan and Sri Lanka have displayed impressive form throughout the tournament. Sri Lanka topped Group B with three consecutive victories, while Pakistan bounced back from an opening loss to India to secure their place in the semi-finals.

Pakistan will be relying on their in-form openers, Gul Feroza and Muneeba Ali, who have formed a formidable partnership. The bowling attack, comprising Sadia Iqbal, Nashra Sandhu, Tuba Hassan, and Aroob Shah, will also be crucial to their chances. Pakistan captain Nida Dar expressed confidence in her team’s ability to perform well in the semi-final. “After the initial setback, we gained the right track and are showing signs of improvement,” she said. “We will be entering the match fully determined to do our best.”
