Pakistanis have endured the savage brutality inflicted by the TTP and other terror outfits for far too long. Emboldened by a permissive Afghanistan, the TTP now stands as the biggest terror group there. The recent United Nations monitoring team report shows that talks with the TTP are a dangerous fantasy and that the Pakistani government’s firm rejection of talks is a resolute first step. The Afghan Taliban must be convinced to dismantle the safe havens for the TTP in Afghanistan while we bolster border security. Increased vigilance and a robust security presence are essential to deter infiltration attempts. Our sovereignty demands a resolute response. We will not forget the sacrifices of our martyrs and not one more life should be lost to terror.
