ISLAMABAD: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) on Wednesday outlined new measures to attract foreign investment, including streamlined online company registration.
The SECP conducted an online session and briefed diplomats from 27 Pakistani missions in the European Union on the changes introduced to make it easier for overseas investors to set up businesses in the country.
SECP officials informed the councillors that since all processes are now fully digitalized and completed online, potential investors can register their companies online and easily manage post-incorporation filings from overseas.
The SECP also detailed changes to requirements for international investors, such as document attestation through embassies or apostilization in accordance with the Hague Convention.The participants appreciated the SECP for conducting the awareness session and both the SECP and the ministry pledged to hold similar sessions in the future to encourage foreign investment.
The session, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was attended by representatives from across Europe, including major financial centres London and Paris.
