Four uplift schemes worth over Rs17bn approved

LAHORE:The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved four development schemes worth more than Rs17 billion.

The approval was made in the 9th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) Fiscal Year 2024-25 was held under the Chairmanship of Planning and Development (P&D) Board Chairman Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan in which four development schemes of livestock, industries and governance sectors were approved at an estimated cost of Rs17.374 billion.

The approved schemes included CM Punjab Livestock Card at the cost of Rs4.442 billion, livestock asset transfer to rural women in South Punjab at the cost of Rs2 billion, Establishment of Garment City in Quaid-i-Azam Business Park, Sheikhupura, at the cost of Rs5.346 billion and smart safe cities for 19 districts Phase-II at the cost of Rs5.586 billion.

Secretary P&D Board Dr Asif Tufail, Chief Economist Dr Nasir Iqbal Malik, members of P&D Board, heads and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments attended the meeting.
