German envoy, MPA discuss promotion of bilateral ties

LAHORE:German Ambassador Alfred Grannas called on PTI MPA Baasima Chaudhry at her residence and discussed issues of mutual interest on Wednesday.

The German ambassador was accompanied by Counsellor Dr Sebastian Paust and First Secretary Ms Janine Rohwer in the meeting in which both the sides agreed to promote bilateral relations. Baasima Chaudhry on this occasion said that the attack of miscreants on the Pakistani embassy in Germany is regrettable, but it is good that the German authorities took immediate action against them. The desecration of the Pakistani flag by the miscreants is not acceptable in any case and the culprits should be punished, she added.

Baasima said that there is a need to further promote the communication campaign between Pakistan and Germany in terms of trade and environment especially there is an urgent need to formulate a plan to solve the problems faced by Pakistani students. She said Pakistan is currently suffering from climate change and it needs the cooperation of Germany because Germany has always worked for the betterment of the environment. The German ambassador on this occasion said that the relations between Pakistan and Germany have always been positive and friendly and these relations will be better in the future.
