Islamabad: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Chaudhry Salik Hussain here on Tuesday said that Pakistan wants to strengthen its relationship with Egypt in various areas of mutual interest, including religious education.
The minister said this during a meeting with Ambassador of Egypt to Pakistan, Dr. Ihab Mohamed Abdelhamid Hassan. The two sides discussed ways to further enhance bilateral relations between Pakistan and Egypt.
Both the dignitaries also discussed to exchange of mutual studies in enhancing the Masjid's roles as centre of religious, spiritual, social guidance, and social services. The ambassador who called on the federal minister at his office informed him about establishing an institution affiliated with Alazhar University in Punjab to impart religious education. The ambassador said 11 professors from Egypt are already teaching in different faculties at International Islamic University Islamabad. He also invited the minister to attend a conference on the role of women in building awareness.
