Islamabad: On the directions of Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi, the largest plantation campaign has been launched in Islamabad to control environmental pollution, enhance the city’s beauty, and protect wildlife.

During this campaign, 4 million saplings will be planted over the next 60 days. The primary objective of this campaign is to protect and increase the wildlife and plantation in the Margalla Hills. Interior Minister has tasked CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa to make this drive successful.

He has directed that all resources be utilised to restore the original beauty of Margalla Hills and protection of the trees. Through this initiative the damage caused wildfires due to heatwave in Margalla Hills will be mitigated. He also directed to ensure digitally monitoring of the saplings planted during the campaign.

He said that instead of ornamental trees, fruit-bearing and flowering plants should be planted which will make Islamabad more lush and green. He stated the Margalla Hills plantation campaign will reduce environmental pollution in city. This campaign will continue for 60 days.
