ATC denies bail to accused in Badaber killings

PESHAWAR: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has rejected the bail pleas of three suspects in the murder of eight people in Badaber, leading to their arrest in the courtroom on Monday.

The court also postponed the hearing for bail requests of two other suspects until July 30. Judge Muhammad Iqbal Khan of the ATC heard the interim bail requests of three suspects, including, Obaidullah, Shamus, and Azizur Rehman. The prosecution informed the court that the suspects, along with others, were accused of forcibly entering a house and opening fire, resulting in the deaths of four women and four children from the same family. Following their indictment, the three suspects sought interim bail to avoid arrest. After hearing the arguments, the court rejected their bail requests, leading to the immediate arrest of the suspects from the courtroom.The hearing into the bail applications of two other suspects, Farmanullah and Roohullah, who were arrested earlier, was adjourned to July 30.
