A suspected robber was killed and his accomplice arrested on Sunday in an alleged encounter with police in the Pak Colony area.
Police said the encounter took place near the Gutter Baghicha when they found three suspects mugging citizens. In the ensuing encounter, police said, one of the suspects, Abid, son of Qamar Deen, was killed and his accomplice Babar, son of Allah Daya, arrested in an injured state. Their third accomplice managed to flee.
Police said they found illegal arms on the suspects and recovered a motorcycle from them that had been stolen within the jurisdiction of the SITE Super Highway police station. Meanwhile, the Madadgar 15 police on Sunday arrested a robber who had snatched a motorcycle from a citizen in Gulshan-e-Mazdoor.
The stolen motorcycle was also recovered in the police operation. Police said three suspects were involved in snatching the motorcycle, but as the owner had installed a tracker in it, police were able to trace it.
The motorcycle owner immediately informed the Madadgar 15 after the snatching, following which police traced the suspects. As a result of the police action, one suspect was arrested and the stolen motorcycle recovered. The other two suspects managed to escape.
The arrested suspect was handed over to the Saeedabad police. In another police action, the Site Superhighway police claimed to have busted a three-member gang involved in street crime.
The three suspects were arrested a police action. They were identified as Asghar, son of Ali Dad, Rehman Ali, son of Bakht Ali, and Irshad Ali Bhagio. Police also claimed to have seized illegal weapons, ammunition and cash from the suspects’ possession. They were booked under the Arms Act and investigations initiated.
