A chopped up torso was found in the Mauripur area, while a head was recovered from the Lyari neighbourhood on Sunday. Police said that these body parts might belong to the same person, but the situation would become clear after investigation and medical reports.

According to the police, a chopped up torso was found in a sack near a drain in the Muslim Kanta area within the jurisdiction of the Mauripur police station. The officials said the body was missing the head and one leg, suggesting that the suspects had killed the victim, then chopped up his body parts to dispose of his remains.

The body parts were found scattered in the drain. Officials said the torso seems to belong to someone in their mid-30s. The remains were transferred to a hospital for DNA testing. Separately, a head was found near Miran Naka under the Lyari Expressway within the jurisdiction of the Chakiwara police station. Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene and, with the help of rescue workers, transferred the head to a hospital.

Officials suspect that the head might belong to the torso found in Mauripur. However, they pointed out, this can only be confirmed after investigation and medical reports. For now, both the chopped up torso and the head are being kept in cold storage pending identification and until the relatives of the victim or victims come forward to claim them.
