Six die in road accidents, other mishaps

Six persons, including a cop and a young woman, died on Sunday in road accidents and other mishaps in the city.

A 40-year-old police official, Imranur Rehman, son of Riaz, died when he suffered electric shocks from the water suction motor at his house in the Manghopir area. He was posted at the Security Zone II. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Another man died from electrocution in the Orangi Town area. He was identified as 38-year-old Muhammad Ashraf, son of Muhammad Irshad. He suffered electric shocks while doing some work at home.

The body was transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. A man died in the Liaquatabad area after he fell off the Lyari Expressway. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The deceased man is yet to be identified.

Meanwhile, a young woman died in a traffic accident in the Clifton area. She was identified as 20-year-old Zoya, daughter of Sultan. Her body was transported to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. In another traffic accident, an unidentified man, who appeared to be in his 50s, died after he was hit by a speedy vehicle on the Super Highway. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

An elderly man died near Nadeem Sarwar Park in Federal B Area Block 15 when he was hit by a speedy vehicle. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was identified as Kallu, son of Khuda Bakhsh.

Bodies found

Two bodies were also found in the Old Golimar and Gabol Town areas. The body found in the Gabol Town area was identified to be that of 40-year-old Altaf, son of Sultan. It was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Initial investigations suggested that the man had died due to natural causes.

The second body was found on a footpath in the Old Golimar area. The deceased man could not be identified and he appeared to be around 40 years old. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital.
