Peace rally staged in Mardan
MARDAN: People belonging to different walks of life, including politicians, held a peace march here on Sunday.Carrying banners and placards, a large number of traders, workers of different political parties gathered outside the Mardan Press Club. The peace march was organized by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Mardan chapter.
PTI leaders including MNA Ali Mohammad Khan, Muhammad Atif Khan, provincial minister Zahir Shah Toru, MPAs Iftikhar Ali Mashwani, Abdus Salam Afridi, Amir Farzand Khan, PPP leader Nawabzada Khwaja Muhammad Khan Hoti, MCCI president Zahir Shah, Markaz-e-Tanzeem-e-Tajiran president Ehsanullah Bacha and other traders leaders addressed the peace march.
The speakers strongly opposed the military operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The participants of the rally were carrying banners, white flags and placards inscribed with slogans in favour of peace and chanted slogans in favour of peace.
