Islamabad: The Punjab province is expected to experience its fourth monsoon rainfall starting today (Monday), prompting the PDMA to issue a warning to relevant institutions to prepare accordingly. According to the PDMA spokesperson, monsoon rains are forecasted to hit Punjab between July 22 and July 25, with anticipated rainfall and showers in various cities, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur.
Additionally, the Faisalabad, Sahiwal, and Gujarat divisions are also expected to receive monsoon rains during the period. The PDMA director general of PDMA has warned authorities of potential weather hazards and asked them to remain vigilant and prepared to mitigate risks to public life and property.
He advised commissioners, deputy commissioners, water and sewerage agencies, irrigation department, rescue services, civil defence, and other relevant departments to take proactive measures to minimise damage and ensure public safety.
