This refers to the letter ‘Appeal for more security’ (July 16, 2024) by Aryan Khan. Lakki Marwat has experienced a surge in terrorist attacks recently and it is imperative that the district receives adequate protection from those responsible for ensuring public safety. Are the people to assume responsibility for their own safety by arming themselves against unknown assailants at night?
As a resident of Bannu, the situation in our district is similarly concerning. The state has a responsibility to protect its citizens at all times, day and night. Failure to do so will result in devastating consequences.
