Rawalpindi: The 13th Muharram ul Harram procession was held in Taxila with elaborated security measures put in place by the Rawalpindi Police here Saturday.
According to police spokesman, Superintendent of police (SP) Potohar Nasir Nawaz, along with the SDPO Taxila and SHO Wah Cantt visited the routes of 13th Muharram procession.
The SP reviewed the security and traffic arrangements at various points and issued necessary instructions to the officers. A total of 1,200 officers and jawans from the Rawalpindi Police were deployed on duty for the central procession, along with 50 traffic police officers to maintain the flow of traffic. The officers on duty were instructed to remain alert and senior officers should check and brief the duty staff regularly.
