ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to establish a Special Initiative Unit (SUI) in the Prime Minister’s Office to bring government policies in line with international best practices.
This unit will act as a think tank and analyse the policies of the ministries and give its expert opinion. In this think tank, five experts will be appointed in MP1 scale and seven experts in MP2 scale.
Applications were sought for the appointment of experts. In response, 4,000 people applied, but the shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews.
The selection board has started the interviews of the candidates.
The head of the selection board is Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema, while Additional Secretaries of the Prime Minister’s Office, Establishment Division and Cabinet Division also represented in the board.
According to sources, there have been candidates in the interviews who are PhD and have experience of working in the Asian Development Bank, World Bank and other international institutions. Experts from finance and economy, energy and other fields will be appointed for this unit.
