PESHAWAR: A woman was named deputy commissioner of Dera Ismail Khan as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government carried out a major reshuffle in bureaucracy.
According to a notification issued by the Establishment Department late Thursday night, 76 officials were transferred and posted. Those reshuffled included commissioners of Dera Ismail Khan, Kohat and Bannu divisions.
Syed Abdul Jabbar Shah was posted as commissioner of Dera Ismail Khan; Motasim Billah was named commissioner of Kohat and Abid Khan was posted as Bannu commissioner.
Syed Tanzila Sabahat was named secretary of Science and Information Technology. As many as 24 deputy commissioners, three directors, three additional secretaries and the head of the regional transport authority were also reshuffled.
A woman official, Sara Rehman, was named the deputy commissioner of Dera Ismail Khan, the home district of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
She has served Peshawar in the past as assistant commissioner.
