LAHORE: The 50th death anniversary of renowned Urdu poet Saghar Siddiqui was observed on Friday. The real name of Saghar was Muhammad Akhtar and he was born in Ambala (India) in 1928. He migrated to Pakistan after the partition and settled in Lahore.
Saghar started poetry at a very young age and wrote ghazals for films and also published a literary magazine. He died in 1974 and was laid to rest in Lahore.
