33 illegal gas connections severed

LAHORE:In a continued effort to combat gas theft, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has conducted extensive raids across Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad, resulting in the disconnection of 33 illegal gas connections and the imposition of fines totaling Rs0.3 million.

In Lahore, SNGPL teams disconnected eight illegal gas connections and filed three FIRs against offenders. In Multan, 18 illegal connections were cut off. The Faisalabad team disconnected three illegal connections and levied fines amounting to Rs0.057 million for gas theft.

In Sheikhupura, fines totaling Rs0.157 million were imposed for gas theft while the team in Gujranwala disconnected one illegal connection and imposed fines of Rs0.17 million. In Bahawalpur, three connections using illegal compressors were disconnected.
