ANP to support jirga’s initiative for peace in Bannu

BANNU: The Awami National Party (ANP) on Thursday announced support to the peace jirga and protest sit-in against the worsening law and order situation in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Addressing a press conference, ANP leaders Taimrubaz Khan, Naz Ali Khan, Shahqiaz Khan advocate, Pir Inamullah Shah, Sohrab Khan and others said that situation in the district had become volatile after the attack on Bannu Cantt and people were being haunted by unseen fear.

They said that ANP was closely watching the prevailing situation and would work for unity of people to curb terrorism and militancy from the region. The ANP leaders said that their party would never allow anyone to play with the lives of people and the solidarity of the Pakhtun soil.The leaders said that a grand jirga of elders would be convened after today’s protest sit-in to discuss ways and means for tackling the situation arising out of the militancy and lawlessness.
