Revamping of hospitals being monitored: minister

LAHORE:Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the revamping project is being monitored in all government hospitals of Punjab. He said this while talking during his visit to Mayo Hospital Eye Ward and Lady Aitchison Hospital Outdoor Block on Thursday.

Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University Prof Mahmood Ayaz gave a detailed briefing regarding the projects. The provincial health minister said on the occasion that the revamping of Mayo Hospital Eye Ward and Lady Aitchison Hospital is in the final stages of completion. The revamped departments of both government hospitals will be opened for public soon.

Prof M Moin, Registrar Prof M Imran, Prof Abrar Ashraf, Prof Asad Aslam Khan, MS Mayo Hospital Prof Faisal Masood, MS Lady Aitchison Hospital Dr Nasir Ch and others were present on this occasion. Meanwhile, Provincial Minister for Health and Emergency Services Khawaja Salman Rafique visited the rescue 1122 headquarters.

Secretary Emergency Services gave a briefing on Air Ambulance Service and Muharram Response on this occasion. Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the rescuers performed their best duties during Muharram.

Training of health staff regarding air ambulance is also necessary. For the first time in the history of Pakistan, air ambulance facility is being provided to the people of Punjab. Secretary Emergency Services Punjab Dr Rizwan Naseer said that emergency services department has provided rescue services to 52,649 mourners in Muharram across Punjab. 51,253 mourners were shifted to the hospital on the spot and 1,393 serious mourners. Dr Rizwan said that the preparation of Rescue 1122 is complete with regard to Air Ambulance Service.
