Kudos to the law-enforcement agencies who ensured safety and security through the length and breadth of the country during Ashura. Peace and order become reality when the authorities are determined to adhere to the rule of law. The powers of state and government can be exercised legitimately only when in accordance with the applicable laws and procedures.
Sadly, rule of law in general appears to have deteriorated throughout much of the country and the situation only seems to be getting worse every day. All stakeholders must strive to uphold law as this is the only way for Pakistan to progress.
