Rawalpindi:Crime Mapping Officer Kashif Khattak, Westridge Police successfully apprehended a woman from Multan within 78 hours for stealing gold jewellery and foreign currency worth Rs10 million, the thief was identified as a household maid’s mother.

The incident happened on July 12 in a house within the jurisdiction of Westridge Police Station. Upon returning from a trip to Murree on July 14, the owners discovered that 42 tolas of gold, foreign currency, and other valuables totaling Rs10 million had been stolen. Upon reporting the incident, the police immediately started an investigation.

Crime Mapping Officer Kashif Khattak utilised modern technology and his experience to focus on the household staff and their families. His efforts soon led to a crucial lead, resulting in the arrest of the maid’s mother. During the investigation, the accused confessed to the crime and handed over the stolen goods to the police. According to police officials, the suspect committed the theft to financially support her son. A case has been registered against her, and further investigation is underway.
