The police personnel do not patrol the rural areas of Serai Naurang in Lakki Marwat District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after Maghrib prayers and the residents are at the mercy of unknown armed men thronging around. Uninterrupted aerial firing is going on in certain parts late at night and nobody knows whether any wedding ceremony is being held or a cross firing between rival groups or villagers and dacoits is taking place. In some of the villages, local committees have been constituted to nominate four to five persons equipped with sophisticated weapons for patrolling and protecting their respective villages at night.
Travel from the village to the nearby city in case of any emergency is not void of danger. And the persistent power outages have also added to the fear and insecurity of the residents in the area. In view of the volatile regional developments, it is requested that special instructions be issued to the law-enforcement agencies to carry out patrols in the area at all hours and especially at night in order to restore law and order in the area.
