PESHAWAR: A man belonging to Takht Bhai tehsil in Mardan on Monday approached the Peshawar High Court (PHC) accusing the local police of trying to grab his plot of land.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa inspector general of police, district police officer of Mardan, deputy superintendent of police of Takht Bhai circle, and state house officers of Takht Bhai and Saroshah police stations were made respondents in the petition.

The petitioner, Fakhar Alam, filed his writ petition through a lawyer Javed Ghani Advocate. The petitioner contended he had purchased a piece of land from one Rambel Khan who had a dispute with one Zahid Khan over the same plot.

He said that he had taken the matter to the court, which had ordered the respondents in the

case not to misuse their authority.Fakhar Alam said that Zahid Khan connived with the local police and raided his property on June 30 and resorted to firing to harass him.

He said the police officials tried to take possession of the plot forcibly besides registering fake cases against him. The man said the police had also beat up his brother. The petitioner requested the court to order action against the police officials in question and prevent them from grabbing his land.
