FAISALABAD: The Lahore High Court has quashed an FIR registered at the anti-corruption police station against the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan.
The court ruled that the allegations against Dr. Iqrar were an attempt to coerce him into relinquishing his legitimate right. The FIR was filed in 2020 by the former registrar of UAF, Chaudhry Muhammad Hussain, on the complaint of former Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, former Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Zafar Iqbal Randhawa and others.
The charges included Sections 420, 471, 409, and 468 of the Pakistan Penal Code, along with Section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947. Dr. Iqrar had challenged these allegations in the Lahore High Court, which ultimately ruled in his favour.
