LALAMUSA: The increase in unannounced loadshedding in Gujrat city and its surroundings has become a significant headache for the residents. With power outages now exceeding 12 hours in many areas, both business activities and household affairs are severely impacted. Businesses are struggling to maintain operations, and the daily lives of citizens are disrupted, making it difficult to carry out even basic household tasks.

The frequent and extended power cuts are especially challenging in the sweltering summer heat, exacerbating the discomfort and frustration of the people. Local businesses, particularly small enterprises, are facing significant financial losses due to the inconsistent power supply. With shops, workshops and factories unable to operate smoothly, the economic stability of many families is at risk.

The cumulative effect of these power outages is a slowdown in economic activity, contributing to broader economic woes. Citizens are increasingly vocal about their dissatisfaction with the situation. Despite paying hefty electricity bills, the residents are experiencing prolonged periods without power. Many are outraged by the fact that, while the government continues to increase electricity tariff, the availability of electricity remains unreliable.

The absence of any noticeable reduction in their bills, despite the extended outages, adds to their grievances. In response to the ongoing crisis, the citizens are demanding immediate and effective action from the government. They are calling for the restoration of the old tariff for electricity consumers using up to 300 units. Many believe that returning to these rates would provide much-needed financial relief.
