Fund for Tirah approved
JAMRUD: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved a substantial fund for the Tirah valley residents who suffered displacement.As a result of ongoing efforts for the 6,455 families of victims who returned from different areas of the Khyber district, particularly the Raj Gul region, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has approved the release of Rs551.900 million for tents, food packages, and other necessities.
Officials stated that they had promised the victims safe return to the Tirah Valley and financial assistance, and the approval of the fund by the provincial government is a step towards fulfilling that promise. They said the funds would be utilised for the rehabilitation and welfare of the victims without discrimination.
On the request of the deputy commissioner Khyber, the provincial cabinet has also approved necessary arrangements under Section 16-A of the NDMA Act, 2010.They said the government is committed to improving the living standards in the tribal districts.
