LAHORE:Increasing trend in the prices of the perishable persisted as the rates of some seasonal vegetables again crossed the benchmark of Rs200 per kilogram while the poultry suppliers also managed to push the rates.
Furthermore, the issue of overcharging and non-implementation of the official rates pushed the rates of the perishable more as compared to the official rates while the general public is at the mercy of the authorities who let the sellers charge their will rates. Both the institutions are not coming to rescue the general public from inflation and overcharging and left them at the mercy of the mafia which is controlling the pricing mechanism in the province.
