The Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) has resolved many complaints of citizens of Karachi regarding water and sewerage.
KWSC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed was quoted as saying this in a statement issued by the KWSC on Saturday.
According to a spokesperson for the KWSC, water corporation officials have resolved sewerage and water supply issues in Model Colony, Ahsanabad, Model Zone, Teen Hatti Bridge, New Karachi, Nazimabad, Saddar, Lyari, Liaquatabad, Baldia Town, Gadap, Orangi, Landhi, SITE, Korangi, Surjani, Sohrab Goth, Shah Faisal Colony, Mominabad, Scheme 33, Jinnah Town, Jamshed Town and other areas of the city.
The statement read that sewage overflow had been eliminated by placing slab covers on open manholes and leakages in water lines in different areas of the city had also been repaired.
In addition, on special instructions of the KWSC CEO, various complaints were resolved by taking measures to supply water to various mosques, Imambargahs, mourning assembly areas, and procession routes.
Besides, KWSC Hydrants Cell Incharge Elahi Bakhsh Bhutto said water tankers were being provided to various mosques, Imambargahs and procession routes in connection with Muharram and this would continue till Muharram 12.
The KWSC CEO said the water corporation was committed to ensuring comprehensive arrangements for Muharram and in this regard, officers of the KWSC were in constant contact with leaders of the Jafaria Alliance.
