MNAs list, also including Marwat, ready in SC order compliance: Gohar
Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and PTI’s Secretary General Omar Ayub claimed they were not allowed to enter the Adiala jail
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Gohar Ali Khan Saturday said they had prepared a list of MNAs, including Sher Afzal Marwat, in compliance with the Supreme Court (SC) verdict in the reserved seats case.
Talking informally to journalists in Adiala jail, he said they would submit the lists to the Election Commission of Pakistan in 15 days after which it would confirm the party members within seven days. “We have prepared the lists of 41 MNAs, the affidavits of all the candidates will reach us by 11pm on Saturday night.”
Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and PTI’s Secretary General Omar Ayub claimed they were not allowed to enter the Adiala jail.
Speaking to the media outside the Adiala jail, Rawalpindi, he said they had arrived with the demand for release, but they were not allowed to enter the jail gate. “We requested the administration to allow us to offer prayers in the prison mosque,” he explained.
The opposition leader added that they had gone to Adiala jail with the demand of release and that they would not leave until they were informed officially that both had been re-arrested.
