ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has fixed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s intra-party election case for hearing on July 23.
According to an ECP source, a full five-member bench, headed by the Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, including four commission members from all the provinces, would hear the case.
Primarily, they pointed out, the ECP bench would focus on the reply submitted by PTI’s federal chief election commissioner Raoof Hasan a few weeks back in response to its seven major objections, concerning PTI’s intra-party polls conducted on March 3.
The ECP’s political finance wing had raised questions on the intra-party elections and sent them in writing to PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Raoof Hasan.
“The ECP bench is expected to seek satisfactory replies to the questions that have arisen from replies submitted by PTI,” the source maintained.
