263 raids conducted to arrest drug peddlers
LAHORE : The Punjab Police have claimed to have conducted 263 raids on drug dens across the province.
The police arrested 105 drug peddlers and recovered some 61 kilogram charas, 1 kg heroin and 959 litre liquor from them. According to Punjab police spokesman, since February 26, more than 36,000 raids were conducted across the province and 17,435 drug traffickers held.
Meanwhile, IGP Punjab Dr Usman Anwar Saturday visited Rawalpindi and inspected security arrangements of main processions and Majalis of Muharram. The IGP also visited Safe City Project and Police Khidmat Centre Liaqat Bagh during Rawalpindi tour. Reviewing the facilities provided in the service center also took feedback from citizens.
Lapses in justice delivery won’t be tolerated: CCPO
Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana asserted on Saturday that no lapses in delivering justice to victims would be tolerated.
He was presiding over e performance review meeting of the Investigation Wing at his office, here on Saturday. The CCPO Lahore directed the DSPs to prioritise resolution of pending cases, road certificates, and ongoing investigations. He emphasized the enforcement of a zero-tolerance policy for crimes against women and children.
