PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has decided to establish a “Quran Mahal” in the provincial capital to preserve the old copies and pages of the Holy Qur’an.
He directed the Peshawar Development Authority to provide a suitable plot for the purpose and said that the proposed “Qur’an Mahal should be a masterpiece of Islamic architecture. “The shaheed copies/pages of the Holy Qur’an from across the province should be preserved in the Qur’an Mahal,” he said while chairing the first meeting of the Auqaf Department.
Provincial Minister for Auqaf, Adnan Qadri, Secretary Auqaf and other relevant officials attended the meeting, said a handout.The chief minister was briefed about the administrative and
financial matters of the department, the lease policy of the Aquaf’s properties and other important matters.
It was decided to hold Rehmatul-lil-Alameen conferences this year in impressive manners across the province at the official level.The chief minister directed the quarters concerned to make arrangements for holding these conferences at the provincial as well as divisional and district headquarters level.
He announced that Rs 5 million would be provided for holding the Rahamtul lil Alameen Conference at the provincial level, whereas Rs 2 million would be provided to each divisional headquarters and the district headquarters would also be provided with Rs 1 million each to hold such conferences/events.
The chief minister decided that the Ulema-o-Mashaikh Conference would also be held in the province.He directed the officials concerned to identify suitable land for the government graveyard to meet the requirements of Peshawar city in this regard.The meeting decided on the establishment of an Assets Management Unit and GIS mapping of the Auqaf properties across the province.
