ISLAMABAD:Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Markazi Asna Ashri Imam Bargah in G-6, Islamabad last night and reviewed the security arrangements for the upcoming Muharram processions.
He met with participants and inquired about the arrangements. The participants expressed satisfaction over the security measures and arrangements, a spokesman of the Interior Ministry said.
Interior Minister said that the police and administration are on high alert to ensure peace and security during Muharram. He directed the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad Muhammad Ali Rindhawa and IG Islamabad Police, Ali Nasir Rizvi, to take necessary steps to ensure
the security of the processions. He said that a control room has been set up and CCTV cameras are being used to monitor the situation.
Interior minister was accompanied by Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, IG Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi, DIG Ali Raza, and other relevant officials.
