LAHORE: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) on Friday unveiled the schedule for the National Women Football Club Championship 2024. The event will carry 26 clubs which will play their matches in Lahore, Karachi, Quetta and Islamabad from July 21 to August 10.
TWK FC, Real Lahore WFC and Young Rising Stars FC will compete in Lahore while in Islamabad six teams will press for the final round slots. These six teams have been divided into two groups. The Group A carries Legacy WFC, Gilgit WFC, Smurfs WFC, while Group B contains Highlanders WFC, Strikers WFC and Nawansher United FC.
In Quetta round four teams will contest which are Balochistan WFC, Quetta Women FC, Hazara Quetta Women FC and Hazara United FC. Karachi will host 13 teams which have been divided into four groups.
Group A carries Karachi United FC, MUK WFC, Young Muslim FC; Group B comprises Karachi City WFC, Mohsen Gillani WFC, Jahangir Memorial; Group C features Diya WFC, Overseas WFC and Baloch Muhammadan WFC; while Group D contains Jafa WFC, Karachi Women FC, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto WFC and Hazara Girls FC.
The championship’s final round will take place in Islamabad from August 1 to August 10. The top eight teams, one each from each group and one each from Quetta and Lahore centre will qualify for the quarter-finals. The semi-final is scheduled for August 8 and the final will be held on August 10 at the Jinnah Stadium, Islamabad, which recently hosted World Cup Qualifier matches.
