LWMC plans to sanitise 120 Imambargahs before Ashura

LAHORE:Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC), under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, was actively executing the Muharram Sanitation Plan to maintain a clean environment for the citizens.

LWMC Chief Executive Officer Babar Sahib Din has directed a phase wise washing of Imam Bargahs in nine towns. Special cleaning and washing of 120 major Imambargahs will be completed before Ashura. LWMC was ensuring cleanliness on the routes of processions, Imambargahs, and majalis across the city by deploying special cleaning teams along these routes. Additionally, containers on the procession routes are being emptied promptly for the convenience of citizens, in line with Muharram-ul-Haram cleaning plan.

According to LWMC spokesperson Umar Chaudhary, LWMC operation teams were engaged in cleaning procession routes from Mochi Gate to Karbala Gamay Shah, Shadman to Shah Jamal, Pando Street Islampura to Old Anarkali, Ali Razabad Raiwind, and Thokar village.

In Ravi Town, 13 Imam Bargahs have been cleaned and washed, 15 in Shalimar Town, 8 in Wagah Town, and 7 Imambargahs in Aziz Bhatti Town.
