LAHORE:Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said that quality education facilities are being provided in medical universities of Punjab. He expressed these views while addressing the 38th syndicate meeting of Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU) on Thursday.
The provincial minister also approved all the decisions of the 37th syndicate meeting of FJMU. Registrar University Prof Nadeem presented the contents of the syndicate agenda. During the syndicate meeting, Prof Shabnam has been approved for additional charge of DG Punjab Thalassemia and Other Genetic Diseases Research Institute. Re-appointment of Assistant Prof Medical Education and Deputy Director QEC has been allowed to Fatima Jinnah Medical University during the syndicate meeting. Extension of Assistant Audit Officer to FJMU, outsourcing of CSSD and laundry of mother and child block and third retender framework for procurement of medicines have been approved during the syndicate meeting. Special Secretary Development Syed Wajid Ali Shah and Additional Secretary Khalid Usman from Dept of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education, VC FJMU Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, VC University of Health Sciences Prof Ahsan Waheed Rathore, Pro VC Prof Kamran were present in the meeting.
MPAs Kanwal Pervaiz Chaudhry and Amna Ehtishamul Haque, Manik Sheikh Tarr, Prof Noreen Akmal, Prof Bilqis Shabbir, Prof Shireen Khawar, MS Mozang Teaching Hospital, MS Ganga Ram Hospital, MS Shahdara Teaching Hospital, participated in the meeting.
