Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday visited the house of martyred Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) DSP Ali Raza. Naqvi offered condolences to the family of DSP Ali Raza at his house in Gulberg. He assured the grieved family of all possible support and recommended the government confer the medal of gallantry on the martyred police officer.

Naqvi said Sindh police personnel had sacrificed their lives for the sake of this country. He paid tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives to control the law and order. He also paid tribute to DSP Ali Raza, who was martyred in firing by terrorists in the Karimabad area of Karachi a few days ago. He expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the martyr. Shaheed Ali Raza always played a role in thwarting the nefarious designs of terrorists with courage, Naqvi said and added that the brave sons of the Sindh police killed terrorists.

He said the martyred police officers had sacrificed a lot for peace and the officers and jawans of the Sindh police had made history in the fight against terrorism with their precious blood. Earlier, Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar said police sleuths are probing DSP Ali Raza’s murder in which the involvement of Lyari gang war elements and operatives of banned outfits was being suspected.

Talking to media on Monday, he said the DSP Ali Raza murder case was being investigated by keeping in view possible involvement of suspects from banned outfits, especially the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Lyari gang war, as Raza during his service had arrested several members of these groups and also remained active in operations against such elements.

Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi also met with Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, at the Burhani Palace. He also visited the Shah Shaheedan Imambargah in Soldier Bazaar and reviewed the arrangements for the Muharram security.
